Insurer predictions, priorities, and key trends for 2025

Predictions, Priorities, and Key Trends for 2025

We sat down with Alun Mcgeoghegan, Broker Insights’ Commercial Director – Partnerships, to ask him how insurers can use the latest Broker Insights innovations and other key trends to access sharper data and get ahead in 2025 and beyond.

It’s a new year, and the insurance industry is evolving rapidly. What key trends or challenges do you see shaping 2025, and how can insurers adapt?

“A trend that’s certainly gathering more momentum is the need for sharper and more accessible data to drive smarter and more informed business development discussions.

There is now a huge swathe of the market harnessing our data and insight capabilities.

The insurers making the biggest impact moving forward will be those who make best use of the insight to build deeper relationships with the broker community.”

How can Broker Insights’ technology help insurers improve their broker relationships and distribution strategies this year?

“Broker Insights now assembles, analyses, and presents more than a third of the UK’s commercial GWP, meaning partner insurers are supported with a range of services, delivered from our unique insight into the market.

Our platform enables insurers to profile brokers, review market opportunities and create distribution strategies in minutes, using cleansed and accurate data.

This puts our partners in an informed position to understand what areas of the market to focus on, based on accurate data rather than partial data views or anecdotes.”

How do you see the balance of human expertise and AI evolving this year?

“We very much see AI as an enabler to support our teams to do more to help our partners to understand broker data and create actionable insights.

Adopting it meaningfully will provide us and our partners with answers to questions we didn’t know to ask, along with driving far quicker results to common queries.”

What updates or Vision platform enhancements should insurers look forward to in 2025?

“Our Development, Product and Data teams have been busy developing Vision for Insurers, the 4th iteration of our Insurer/MGA platform during 2024 which will be released on a phased basis throughout the early part of this year.

This version has been shaped from feedback themes we’ve heard from our partners, but I’ll not give away any specifics just yet… watch this space.”

What’s your vision for how technology can drive collaboration and innovation across the insurance value chain in 2025?

“There are now a broad range of technology solutions in the industry, from an insights and distribution platform, like Vision, through to solutions that are driving more effective claims handling.

A key consideration for all technology providers is removing friction in the way people do their job, enabling rather than replacing.

I get excited about the collaboration and innovation that is still to happen as our brokers and partners discover new opportunities to work together as a result of the Decision Intelligence our proposition provides.”
