As the Broker Insights team continues to grow, we sat down with our new Chief People Officer, Melissa Mentiplay, to explore how she champions the talent behind our award-winning business. 

Why are you passionate about people? 

“I believe that in any workplace, people are always our biggest asset. Employee wellbeing and engagement are very important to me, so I find working with individuals to provide robust development paths really rewarding. I love working with people from a wide range of professional and social backgrounds, and really enjoy watching the growth of collective knowledge and expertise that comes from building an inclusive workplace culture.” 

How do you translate that passion into your work? 

“I am committed to building positive, engaged and high-performing teams, and plan to do the same at Broker Insights. Not only does this develop individual careers, but can also help attract and retain talent within the business to ensure exceptional service for brokers, insurers and our wider communities.” 

Can you give us a brief description of your career-to-date? 

“With over 20 years spent in People & Culture, my experience spans across global resources companies, government owned corporations, private utilities and technology start-ups. During that time, I’ve also managed teams in the UK, Australia, Singapore, South Africa and Columbia.” 

What attracted you to join Broker Insights?  

“I love the pace and innovation that comes with start-ups, and being able to offer a unique service within the market as Broker Insights does. Since joining, I’ve been impressed with the energy and passion of both the Directors and the teams, and am excited to work with such a committed and driven group of people”. 

What is your first goal for the people at Broker Insights? 

“I’m eager to leverage the great work done so far to build a dynamic and inclusive culture, which we can continue to build upon for the benefit of our colleagues and our community members alike”.
