Broker Insights – the insurtech company whose digital platform is transforming the commercial insurance market – has appointed Dr Artur Niemczewski as a non-executive director.

Dr Niemczewski is an experienced leader in the UK and global insurance markets, who currently serves on the board of the Chartered Insurance Institute, the professional body for the UK insurance sector. During his 25-year executive career in insurance, Dr Niemczewski has held several C-suite positions, including with AXA, Willis/WTW, Marsh, and Xchanging/DXC.  He was chief executive of Pro Global Insurance Solutions plc, the specialist insurance operations experts, until late 2019 and led Garwyn Group Ltd, the UK’s leading liability loss adjuster, before that.

Dr Niemczewski – who has extensive international experience, especially in North American commercial and speciality insurance markets, including chairing a Rhode Island-domiciled specialist carrier – will help shape the firm’s approach and identify opportunities in what is a new and significant US market for Broker Insights.

Fraser Edmond, chief executive of Broker Insights, said: “Artur is an excellent addition to our board and has already started demonstrating the value of his career experience, sector insight, and an extensive global network of contacts. We’re very pleased to have secured a non-executive director of his standing, and it feels like another significant step forward for the company.

“We see considerable opportunities for growth, especially in North America, which will be a key area of focus for our business over the next few years.

“In the UK, our focus initially was on small-to-medium-sized regional brokers, but now larger brokers are interested in tapping into our platform’s digital capabilities – including helping them meet their various regulatory obligations.”

Dr Artur Niemczewski, non-executive director of Broker Insights,  said: “I am passionate about harnessing technology to enhance the insurance value chain. Fraser and the team have developed a groundbreaking platform and proposition that is a win-win: if I am a broker, I can optimize my placement strategy; if I am an insurer, I can turbocharge my broker sales – brilliant!”

The Broker Insights award-winning platform connects leading insurers such as Allianz, Aviva, AXA, QBE, Markel and Hiscox with more than 190 brokers. The platform has more than £1.5 billion in gross written premiums (GWP), the insurance industry yardstick.

Dr Niemczewski was introduced to Broker Insights by its investor Mercia, whose portfolio resourcing team has to date supported the appointment of over 100 chairs and non-executives to its portfolio companies. Mercia led Broker Insights’ Series-A funding round in 2021, alongside private investors and Chroma Ventures, which first backed Broker Insights with seed funding in 2018.
